Description
So, you've got a "CCB" or an Engelhardt, and you like the idea of putting out a little "Kay" vibe. But you don't want to be aposeur
and try to actually pass your budget/beater bass off as the real thing? I've got something for you, then.
This parody logo is "in the style of" the old Kay waterslide decal logo, but it's only "Okay", dawg. The logo is custom-cut as a gold vinyl sticker, and is easily installed on any tailpiece. It is also easily removed, and won't leave any damaging residue behind, so if you change your mind? No harm, no foul.
It's modeled after one of the decals that, at one time, appeared sporadically on Kay basses. The originals were "waterslide" decals that were installed at the factory; they were very much like the ones that I used to put on my Snap-Tite model kits back in the 70s and 80s. There are people out there who are making reproductions of the original logo, and we offer a vinyl-cut version here on our site as well. But this one is the only one I've seen that is a "parody" and intended for those bassists with their tongues planted firmly in their cheeks.
Installation is a snap - locate where you want the decal to be, peel back the application tape so that the decal is on the tape (in reverse) and press it down on the tailpiece. Peel back the application tape and it leaves behind the sticker. Easy-peasy! You don't have to remove the tailpiece or even the strings. 5 minutes, tops! I've even upgraded the application tape to a new clear tape to make it even easier to align. (See installation process with standard "Kay" logo, below.)
TAILPIECE NOT INCLUDED, the photos show an example of the emblem installed on a typical bass tailpiece.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED! We've written up easy instructions to help you install the badge on your bass' tailpiece. And the video below also explains the process.
