WWI British Royal Army Medical Service Red Cross Armband

Description

WW1 UK British Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC)  Red Cross Armband.  It appears to be white linen with a red cross, and white mother of pearl buttons.  It is stamped “ARMY MEDICAL SEVICE”.    Excellent condition.     An identical armband is in the collection of the Australian War Memorial Museum which dates just prior to the First World War.  Additionally, similar armbands have been studied on the Great War Forum that show this style dating to World War One and just prior to the war.
It measures approximately 13 1/2 inches lengthwise and 2 5/8 inches across.
