    Description

Vintage Russian Hand Painted Lacquer Box & One Other
    Circa 1980s
This long slim lacquered box was made in the USSR and the top has been hand painted with a many domed church with its gate house surrounded by a gold border. It's all hand painted including the delicate gold floral designs at the top and bottom. It was purchased in 1981 and it's been in a curio cabinet since. It measures 5 7/8" x 1 5/8" and is lined with red lacquer. The bottom is signed with the artist's name and town.
The other wooden box is also Russian from the same era and has hand carved flowers and borders on the top and front. A lacquered icon of the Holy mother and child is in the center. It is 5 3/8" by 3 7/8". Both boxes are
in excellent condition with no damage at all.
