    Description

    Unusual version of Crow Mother, kachina doll.  Made of some turned wood (lathe) with ear attachments, instead of carved cottonwood, though main body does show some carving or shaving to shape. Painted in glossy enamel type paints, signed on the bottom of feet, A.W. Walz, 12 - '69.  Probably done as a craft project, has a nicely painted kilt and sash.  Quite a nice, fun piece.  There is a small chip off the bottom of a foot.
    Once I had a customer who wanted to buy this piece from me and then turn it in as HER finished project/assignment.  Having the actual artist/craftsperson's name and date adds to this piece.
