    Description

    Who wouldn't have sweet dreams wearing a Barbie print robe to bed!  Here is a super rare item for the advanced Barbie collector;
    this girls robe is one of the rare licensed Barbie items available in the mid-60's as girls clothing.
    I've never seen this item for sale anywhere!
    Licensed Barbie print girls' clothing was sold through Sears catalog in 1964.
    A blouse made of different Barbie logo fabric was shown on page 540 of the 1964 Sears catalog.
    This robe would look great on display in a vintage Barbie collection.  And it would look adorable on a young girl or perhaps a very petite adult collector.  What a great item to wear at a Barbie convention fashion show!
    This robe is marked size 12, and was made in the U.S.A. for Mattel in Hawthorne California.  It's in very nice condition with a sweet floral pastel print of the script Barbie logo.  The vintage label marks it as authentic clothing made under Mattel's license.  The robe is in good vintage condition; this robe was worn by a young Barbie fan in the mid-60's, so there are some signs of wear.  The lowest button showing has been replaced, and is a little different from the other buttons.  And the very lowest button is missing.  The robe
    does have a subtle stain just below the second button, but it isn't real obvious.
    There is also a small 3/8" pinkish mark on the right front between the 1st and 2nd buttons.  You can see this in the 6th picture which shows the collar.  There are some loose threads here and there, where the quilting has come unstitched from the fabric, but it's not terrible.  The robe has a Peter Pan collar, and a nice gathered detail on the front 2 pockets.  The sleeves are 3/4 length.  I can just picture the original owner in this wearing those big furry slippers that were so popular in the 1960's!  (I have a sweet camisole or pajama top embroidered with the Barbie script logo available in another auction.  This probably was worn with the robe too!)
