The name S. Kolstein is well known to players everywhere. Made at one of the most renowned bass shops in the USA. This 3/4 size upright bass is all solid wood. It's used but well cared for. There are some scraped edges and evidence of a couple of earlier minor cracks repaired. But all in all it's in great condition. According to the label it was made in 1977.
This fully professional solid wood instrument plays with a deep sonorous tone. Perfectly set up in our shop to make sure the string height is low for a fast and effortless response and the benefit of Thomastik Spirocore Strings.
We also give a full ToneRite vibration treatment to all our wood instruments to giver them a well seasoned feel.
All in all this is one of the best playing basses we have had in the store. With more than 50 basses in stock at any time this one really stands out. It's a wonderful playing instrument with a deep tone and a quick response. Great in any professional situation whether classical or jazz.
