replica
relating to our country's history and particularly
a difficult time of said history. It is an INSURANCE POLICY on a SLAVE owned by a
Virginia man, issued on April 3, 1858, just 3 years prior to the beginning of the CIVIL WAR.
The issuing company is the AMERICAN LIFE INSURANCE and TRUST COMPANY which had offices
in PHILADELPHIA, PA., quite surprising. It was issued in RICHMOND, VA. The policy is on a SLAVE
named GEORGE, with the
"owner" being a man named JOSEPH MYERS. The policy is for 00
