This Grunert double bass is a gamba cornered fully carved instrument with a slim, accessible upper bout.
The Grünert company was founded by Erich Grünert in 1956. in Zwota, a small town in Saxonia with a long tradition of instrument building. In 1970 the company moved to Penzberg, into their own workshop. After Erich Grünert’s death, his son Horst Grünert carried on the business.
